Module 4: Running check

Back

Detailed description

"The "all-in-one" package for a healthy, economical and fast run"

The running check day combines modules 1-4 and enables you to gain knowledge about the fundamentals of running, the most important training principles, your running style and your performance in one day. Thanks to the lactate level test* (3-step field test), you will receive a training recommendation with heart rates for the different training zones and the certainty that you will neither under- nor overstrain yourself in the future. The test is carried out by Matteo Pini, sports scientist at the Gut St. Moritz clinic. This comprehensive day also includes strength, flexibility and technique training and a video review. Visit the running check day and start the running season successfully or start your personal project of the future with the running check.

This course is basically suitable for all runners. However, to get the most out of the course, you should be able to run 3 times 800m regularly at 3 different speeds (slow, medium, fast).

Course content

- Lactate level test (3-step field test) with lactate measurement*

- Video analysis of your running style

- Strength, flexibility and coordination exercises for at home

Lactate*
Lactate is the salt of lactic acid, which is produced in the body when intensive physical exertion occurs and not enough oxygen is available. If a lot of lactic acid is produced, the body becomes acidic for a short time. Acidosis causes heavy legs and the running pace has to be reduced. Acid is released through rapid breathing. At the end of the exercise, the lactic acid is broken down again and the breathing calms down. The lactate produced during exercise is therefore a kind of self-protection: the higher the value, the stronger the athlete feels the need to stop, stand still or lie down.
